200 / 200, HUMAN WE ARE

Photography was born two hundred years ago. Ever since, it has been telling the story of our lives, our gestures, our landscapes, our small revolutions and our big changes.

To mark the Bicentenary of Photography, Wipplay is launching 200 / 200: 200 images to tell the story of our time and look towards tomorrow.

From October 2026 to September 2027, four seasons will take us through four deeply human territories: coming together in autumn, through what we create, share and pass on; caring in winter, through our bodies and the attention we give to others; seeing the world in spring, as screens, social media and new kinds of images reshape the way we look; and nourishing in summer, from field to plate, from those who grow to those who eat.

Each season will bring a new competition and new images. By the end of the journey, 200 photographs, selected one by one, will form a collective portrait of our time.
