This was an unexpected meeting with Laura, an Argentinean stylist based in New Jersey. We met for the first time at a dinner party thanks to my aunt who introduced us. As the conversation progressed, she invited me to her house to eat Argentine empanadas and spend time with her and her grandson. Laura opened the doors of her home, her intimate space and some of her secrets. She was a very well known stylist in Manhattan with her salon called Laura's, which honors her name change and her colleague who was also named Laura. I made this series in honor and in recognition of her work, you will not find traces of her work tools, nor photos of her aesthetics, but the behind the person who at 74 years old lives alone in a condominium for the elderly, takes care of her grandson on weekends and her house is one of those kind of museums of nostalgia that houses portraits of her late husband, her children, her grandson and a photograph that is the star in her room, the one of her wedding.
