Durant l'été, la mousson enveloppe le sud d'Oman d'un intense brouillard appelé Khareef. Les Omanais viennent chercher la fraîcheur dans les montagnes autour de Salalah. Le contraste entre la verdure autour de Salaha et le desert a quelques dizaines de km est saisissant.
