Biographie
Xavier Soule received the Auguste Perret prize in 1977 for his project in association with Michel Goubet and Lionel Marquis. Then he followed courses at CNAM in Civil engineering, before becoming interested in the history of architecture. He obtained a Masters degree in archeometry at the National Institute of Art and Archeology. At the same time, Xavier Soule began his architectural career in various French agencies: Ch. Venner, E.Baudoin, J.Remondet, etc.
In 1980 he created his own agency ABS architecture together with Olivier Andrieu et Thierry Beuzelin, and specialized in paper architecture. He has participated in many competitions for new towns and municipalities in the Paris suburbs, community housing and individual houses. In 1985 he created the Abvent Society in Los Angeles with 2 other architects, to develop and distribute software that would become revolutionary for the architecture profession.
From 1998 to 2009 he was vice-president of the the Green Cross, an association created by Michael Gorbatchev for the environment and water related conflict prevention.
He is the CEO of the Abvent group, represented in more than 100 countries, and is in charge of many of their subsidiaries such as the photography agency VU. He has been the general administrator and the director of l'École Spéciale d'Architecture de Paris since August 2012.
