Biography
Txema Salvans is a photographer who combined studies in biology and photography, training at the ICP in New York. In 1997, he won the FotoPres award for his reports Historia de Juan Durvan and Vivan los novios, where he explored daily life and social rituals with an ironic approach. His book Nice to meet you earned him the PhotoEspaña award in 2005, and in 2013, he won the Ibero-American Book Award from RM Publishing for The Waiting Game, an eight-year project documenting prostitution along Mediterranean highways. His work reflects on collective self-deception and the visual paradox in photography. He has collaborated with media outlets such as Le Monde, The New York Times, The Guardian, and El País, among others.
