Airports always attracted me in different ways. Personal history, travel desire, taste for transit locations, a serious passion for flight and aviation, this place (or "non-place" to quote French sociologist Marc Augé) is for me an endless source of inspiration : stories, design, decors, graphic compositions, metaphors. This picture, part of a large series on Airports and Aviation, was shot in April 2010, at the time when Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland was erupting ; the resulting particles and ashes cloud, deriving with the wings on the North of Europe, had blocked the whole flight traffic in the area, paralyzing the moves of hundreds of thousands people. Caddies, usually rare in times of great traffic, but well parked here, were waiting patiently in row the passengers of another "immediate boarding".
