A phantasmagorical allegory of nature, this is how one could qualify the eponymous character of Jean Le Mauve’s oral transcription of the tale «The Green Lady» in 1981. This singular face, however imagined from the 14th century, echoes still current environmental issues, metaphorically denouncing the influence and greed of humans on biodiversity. Thus, the Green Lady embodies the correctness of any act by rewarding or blaming the deserving. As it metamorphoses into a fragile entity, it is born, unfolds, and eventually dies to escape the human and preserve its integrity. Through these images I wanted to tell the delicate and dreamlike universe of this character, emblematic of the Picardy region where I was born.
