Biography

Noa Karavan has a wide experience in the initiation, production and realization of cultural projects, artistic events and documentary films.
She is currently the president of “Artists for Public Art 1777” association, which represents some of the leading artists in the world of Public Art, and aims to protect works of Public Art.

In 2009, Noa initiated an international symposium on “Public Art’s fate”. The symposium finally took place on May 2011 with the collaboration of the Centre of World Heritage at UNESCO.

In the early 1990s, she was a co-producer in “Artel Productions” in London, where she initiated and produced Air, Light and Utopia, a three-part documentary series about the Modern Movement in Architecture (in collaboration with the Centre of World Heritage at UNESCO and DoCoMoMo).

Since 1995, she has been starting to consider the possibilities of internet when she launched Peace Quest, an education for peace project, which presents a multi-perspective history of the Arab-Israel conflict on the Internet (in collaboration with the European Commission).

In 1998, she launched and produced Seeing the Other, an international conference and cultural event dealing with the link between ethnicity and conflict (in collaboration with the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office).

In 2003, she was co-Producer of The White City of Tel Aviv an exhibition which portrays the city’s urban and architectural heritage on the occasion of the nomination of Tel-Aviv’s unique ensemble of ‘Bauhaus Buildings’ as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The exhibition took place in the Museum of Art in Tel Aviv and has travelled the world.

Since then, she has organized exhibitions in Tel- Aviv, Berlin and Japan. She also published books about Art and Architecture.
