Biography
Natalia Wiernik, born in 1989, is an award winning multimedia artist based in Cracow, Poland. She studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracowbetween 2008 – 2013. Since 2015, Wiernik has been pursuing a PhD at the Department of Animation, Photography and Digital Media and now she works as a teacher there. Wiernik is a laureate of the “Young Poland” scholarship, and she has received scholarship from the Minister of Science and Higher Education for accomplishments in the area of visual arts twice. Her artistic projects, which are gaining international renown, have been presented at numerous exhibitions, reviews and photography festivals in London, New York, Los Angeles, Florence, Munich, Paris, Arles and Zurich. Her works were published in British Journal Photography, The Guardian, L'Obs and many others.
The issue of identity has become one of the most important subjects in her artistic work.
