Biography

Karl Joseph was born in Cayenne, French Guiana, in 1973. He currently lives in Sète, but works regularly in his native region, where he also co-founded the biennial Rencontres Photographiques de Guyane, of which he is artistic director. As a documentary photographer, he collaborates with numerous press titles (L'équipe Magazine, Le Monde diplomatique, Le Monde, Pèlerin Magazine, La Chronique Amnesty International...). He has published La Guyane du capitaine Anato (Rouergue, 2019) Les Guyanais (Ibis rouge, 2011) and Les Contes de Malastrana (Terrail, 2007).
