Biography
Whenever he photographs, films, draws, or writes, Hugues Anhes chooses to look at the world through a candid eye, without blinking whether facing difference or indifference.
He studied at Les Beaux Arts de Paris and at l'école des Gobelins. He then worked as an assistant in fashion, advertising and contemporary art, with important artists such as Patrick Gries, Véronique Vial, Satoshi Saïkusa, Sacha Van Dorssen, and Stefan Ruiz.
Hugues Anhes rejects automatic responses to experience and embraces the freedom that life offers. He loves shuffling dreams, tears and laughter. He refuses to be subjected. From his audacious, nearly violent credo emerges an aesthetic intuitively gentle that infuses all his work.
