Biographie
After studying audiovisual studies, Frédérique Founès alternately held the position of press relations manager and exhibition production manager for the Fnac Photo Galleries. She then joined the associative world as head of photography and marketing for les petits frères des Pauvres and participated in the creation of the social photography gallery "Fait & Cause" directed by Robert Delpire, where she is in charge of press relations, research for partnerships and part of the production of the exhibitions. She then joined the Editing press agency as director of cultural and corporate projects.
In 2007, she co-founded the Signatures agency, a photographers' house, which she manages. By giving it the term Signatures as its banner, she reinforces her desire to bring the eyes of authors to the forefront. Signatures collaborates with the press, companies and institutions, distributes archives, accompanies photographers in the setting up of their projects and commissions.
Frédérique Founès is also an exhibition curator, a role she has taken on, among others, for the Rencontres d'Arles and the Months of Photography in Paris. She directed the Nadar Photographic Book Prize from 2012 to 2015. Since 2012, she has been giving continuing education courses at the Ecole de l'image Gobelins on image reading, visual narration and the marketing of images.
