Biography
President of Studio Harcourt Paris
After having successfully run an investment company in commercial real estate, Francis Dagnan became President of the prestigious Studio Harcourt in 2007. In meeting the challenge of the transition from film to digital, he has given a new boost to the studio, while preserving its core values since its creation in 1934: excellence, aesthetics and French elegance.
Introduced to photography at an early age, he enriches his own work from the studio expertise and his numerous discussions with the team of photographers. Originally inspired by reportage photography, his thinking is now facing conceptual art, thus emphasizing textures, colors and geometry.
Willing to adapt the work of Studio Harcourt to the challenges of today and to communicate it internationally, he is convinced that the sustainability of the house depends on its collective organization. It is indeed the combination of dozens of looks which makes Studio Harcourt portrait an exceptional image.
He paid tribute to this unique know-how in a book entitled L’Art du portrait selon Harcourt, Secrets et techniques, published in 2010 by Pearson France.
