Havana, Cuba 2017. I was visiting a friend in the city center, we went for a walk and she stop for a moment to talk to this lady at the door. While my friend was talking to her neighbor about the economic situation, I took some pictures. This photo especially made me think of the image of the Virgin of Caridad del Cobre, the patron saint of Cuba, depicted in yellow, with the baby Jesus in her left arm and three slaves at her feet. The faithful turn to the Virgin for spiritual consolation and the solution to their desires and problems. Isn't this what children look for in a mother?
