Biography
From 2000 to 2006, Diane Dufour was the director of Magnum Photos. She has been the curator of numerous exhibitions, including Euro Visions at the Centre Pompidou in 2005 and L'image d'après at the French Cinematheque in 2007, also presented to CCB Barcelona in 2008.
In 2010, she created LE BAL* with Raymond Depardon. Among the exhibitions in the past two years : L'Amérique sans Nom (2010), Topographies de la Guerre (2011), Paul Graham (2012) et Anticorps / Antoine d'Agata (2013).
Since 2008 she is the director of La collection des carnets du Bal that explores the challenges of the civilization of the image through unpublished artists interventions, historians and anthropologists, in partnership with the School des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales and the National Plastic Arts Centre.
* LE BAL
Opened on the site of a 1920's ballroom, LE BAL has emerged in the area of the image as a place of reference in France and abroad. It is an independent Ppatform of exhibition, publishing, reflection and education devoted to representations of reality through images (photography, video, film, new media). Since 2010, LE BAL proposed a dense and demanding programming (11 exhibitions and film seasons, 85 meetings, seminars 5, 13 publications ...). La Fabrique du Regard is an educational platform which also conducts to work with young people from 6-18 years, including the most disadvantaged in other to to educate the viewers of tomorrow.
