Biography
Born in 1991, Arthur Crestani turned to photography after he studied social science and city planning. He lived for several years in Delhi, and developed a passion for urban Indian problematics. Even though he is new settled in Paris, he keeps on working between India and France, following a documentary line that includes some room for staged photography. his look, both tender and quirky, questions the place of humans in in-the-making big cities, in India as well as in the Parisian suburbs. In 2017, the series "Big City Dreams" highlights the omnipresent real estate advertising in the Indian city Gurgaon. In 2018, with "Aranya Redux", he starts an investigation on the heritage coming from the innovating experience of Indian social housing in the 1980's.
