Once upon a time, the Franco-Lebanese artist and filmmaker, Rima Samman, collected old photographs of her family members. The opportunity for her to represent the love she bears in Lebanon, the occasion for us to make it a competition: LEBANON, A HISTORY OF LOVE, in partnership with Editions Filigranes, L'Orient le Jour and the French Institute of Liban. What is the objective of this theme? To collect photos of culture, markets, landscapes and moments of life. So tell us about your love for this country! The winners will receive autographed books and have their pictures exhibited in France and Lebanon.

Institut Français du Liban
The Institut français du Liban belongs to the cultural network of France abroad. It is
headquartered in Beirut and has 8 branches in the cities of Saida, Tyre, Nabatieh, Deir El
Qamar, Zahle, Baalbeck, Jounieh and Tripoli.
It constitutes the main platform for dialogue between France and Lebanon in the fields of culture and knowledge. Multidisciplinary and multisectoral, it promotes cultural, artistic, academic, scientific, cooperation, cinematographic and audiovisual exchanges between France and Lebanon and contributes in particular to the presence in Lebanon of French creators, artists and experts.
The Institut français du Liban also promotes projects and debates of ideas, and solicits its partners in the Lebanese cultural scene through the actions it organizes around key moments during the year, such as La Nuit des Idées.

Institut pour la photographie
Started by the Region Hauts-de-France in collaboration with Les Rencontres d’Arles, the Institut pour la photographie is a new resource centre, for dissemination, dialogue and experimentation in order to develop the photographic culture within the general public and to support research and creation. Its programme is based on synergy between five main lines: exhibitions, conservation of photographers’ archives, education, edition, and a grant programme for new projects. Situated at the crossroads of Europe, this new structure forms part of an inclusive approach stemming from initiatives and local expertise with an international ambition.

Éditions Filigranes
Filigranes Editions is pursuing an original and daring path for having specialized in photographic publishing and artist publishing. Editorial choices range from well-known authors to first books. Founded 27 years ago by Patrick Le Bescont, the catalog contains 580 titles. The editorial approach of Filigranes is to combine, in singular books, the image and the writing, thus crossing the glances and the sensibilities of authors photographers, artists and contemporary writers, without exclusion of styles or of sorts.
