La Comédie-Française
A theatre of creation since its foundation in 1680, the Comédie-Française presents a repertoire of classic and contemporary French and foreign texts. The company performs throughout the season on its three stages - the Salle Richelieu, the Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier and the Studio-Théâtre - as well as on national and international tours. "The Comédie-Française carries within it this utopia which consists of reading the present by the yardstick of the past, its missions being too vast and the curiosity of its craftsmen too insatiable to be reduced to one direction rather than another. Le ferment commun, its Troupe and with it all the departments work tirelessly to lead you along these bushy paths. Éric Ruf
