On September 8, 1951, a decree published in the Official Journal provides that wines with a designation of origin can only be sold from December 15. However, following the complaints of the wine syndicates, a note of November 13, 1951 specifies "under what conditions certain wines can be marketed from now on without waiting for the release of December 15". It is this note which in fact created the appellation "Beaujolais Nouveau". (Source: Wikipedia)
